RISE is a weekend-long innovation expo held by the Rutgers Entrepreneurial Society at Rutgers University- New Brunswick. We bring together students across academic disciplines from universities around the New York and Philadelphia metropolitan area to build, network, and engage with some of the most talented entrepreneurs in the region.
Gather a team and create a start-up business plan, pitch deck, and product demo in 36 hours. And pitch it to a panel of entrepreneur judges to compete for our first-place prize.
Learn about the forefront of innovation by hearing from the entrepreneurs exploring it. It's that simple.
See some of the greatest start-ups coming out of Rutgers at our Demo Day event.
Come learn from the brightest student instructors in our interactive student workshops. Learn anything from e-commerce marketing to JS frameworks and everything in the middle.
While getting a degree in Finance and Investments at CUNY-Baruch, David co founded his first business, a home improvement startup called BuilderBuzz. After moving on from that project he started Khandry Tech, a development studio that provided development, strategy and consulting to businesses. This was acquired in 2017 by JUICE, where he then became Chief Operating Officer. Khandrius' work at JUICE includes digital growth through modern media, and he has a tremendous body of work in web implementation and product consulting.
After struggling with bullying in school growing up, Perl sought to change education around bullying and other related issues. In 2016 she founded the Kind Mind Collective, a non-profit organization promoting kindness and compassion through education while integrating pop-culture. She has tremendous experience in utilizing empathy in entrepreneurship, and will be sharing her unique story and experiences with us in our keynote on Sunday.

Do I need to participate in the start-up competition if I want to attend RISE?
Anyone student over 18 can attend, and participating in the competition is not required.
I'm not a member of RES or any of the RISE partners. Can I still attend RISE and participate in the competition?
As long as you're a university student over 18, you can attend and participate in RISE.
I don't live near Rutgers, is there anywhere I can stay overnight so I can attend both days of the conference?
Yes, we will accomodate for students that request overnight housing in their registration.
I'm not a business student or a coder! What can I do at RISE?
We're all about education and expanding horizons, and nobody needs to enter RISE with a predetermined set of skills. All workshops will be taught at the introductory level, so come eager to learn something new!
How do I stay updated on speaker reveals, partner additions, and other event changes?
Follow the Rutgers Entrepreneurial Society on Facebook; we will be posting all updates on there.
